Star Trail, First Go.

First Published November 6th 2017

My first post. Wow. ok. Where to start.

I’ve been into taking snapshots for a long while, but only in the last couple of years i’ve taken steps to improve what i can do. Understanding my camera and workflow to create visually stunning images.

I started playing around with shooting Widefield Astro Images and Startrails. I found it particularly interesting, but very difficult, just going out on my own and not really knowing what i needed to do. Below is one of my very first attempts at a star trail image around Leicestershire.

Not Great, but at the time this was just stunning to me. Using a cheap little DSLR and capturing the movement of the night sky just made me immensely happy.

Over the next year i was determined to get up to what i considered the next level. Something that i could be proud to show, and proud to say ‘I created that!!!’.

I went through periods where i went out almost every other night to refine the process, and better myself with editing and completing the images.

This shot was almost a year later at the same location, with the same camera, lens and just using a little flash to bring out the details of the building.

I’m now a much happier and more confident photographer, especially with Astro and Trails.

This blog will be a bit of everything that i have been doing over the past few years, and what i’m doing now. Expect some interesting posts with tech details, quick summations, all the way to information about the whole process and how to’s.

If your interested or have any questions just comment on the post.

I currently enjoy any type of photography and increasing my skill levels all round, including portraiture, landscapes, wildlife, even got my first wedding done over the last few months.

I always put 100% into everything i do, and try and improve or learn something new every day.

One last photo from a shoot at Grace Dieu priory a few weeks back, that may be the subject of my next post.

Have Fun, Stay Safe, and go get some great shots!.
