I like shooting cars at shows with a little flash. I think it helps bring out details and gives some cars more punch.
I’ve got a few with and without shots below to highlight why I like doing it this way.
This is just one technique i like, and use it at car shows when I don’t have any setup time, and a single light. If I had more time, a better location, I would do things a lot different.
Adding some flash shows more detail in the grill and a dynamics. More visually appealing.
Being able to expose for the background and give more separation and detail.
Highlighting the Grill and Highlighting the amazing little details.
I love lighting cars like this, but it’s a little marmite for some. I know some prefer shooting with natural light, but for me, I just want more punch.
