Photographing stars is a passion of mine. It is where i really started with photography.

Over the years i have been shooting different landmarks around leicestershire, rutland and bordering counties. Some well known, and some not so well known.

With sporadic good nights to shoot, and lots of landmarks and views to go round, this will be an ongoing project.

Having a good side project to work on keeps the creativeness flowing, and keeps you using different techniques in your photography development.

I’ll also start expanding it around the UK. For now though, my home county of Leicestershire, and a few surrounding areas.

This is just a small portion of the images i’ve taken around Leicestershire and a little beyond, and there are more landmarks and scenes to shoot.

If you want to learn how to do this sort of photography i will be running workshops to show how to shoot and how to edit these scenes. Drop me a message or comment here if that’s something your interested in.

Above is a link to the kit i usually recommend for shooting these scenes, but if you have any questions please leave me a comment below.

Finally, have fun and stay safe, and enjoy shooting.

Any suggestions for future blog posts, drop me an email. I will at some point be going into more detail on future posts.

  1. great photos, did you have open access to some of those places, for example bradgate park, i though it was closed at nights? are you allowed in after it closes ?

    1. Thanks Paul. Most of the places are open at night, including bradgate park. Bradgate Park has a public path running through it. When these were taken, the Old John Car Park was still open, but there’s always somewhere down the road you can park, and walk up. Same if you go in at Newtown Linford End, except parking on the road is easier. The only one in all of these where permission was needed, was Hough Windmill which is usually locked up at night. I will be going back there at some point now the sails are on. Are you interested in shooting some of these landmarks?
